The North Central Region exists to advance the mission of the Pentecostal Church of
God by building relationships, strengthening and supporting ministers and churches,
and equipping them for growth and multiplication.

Dr. Joshua C. Pennington
Regional Bishop, North Central Region
Dr. Joshua C. Pennington exemplifies a unique blend of pastoral ministry, evangelism, theological teaching, and leadership — both in the pulpit and the boardroom — which he passionately shares with the Body of Christ. Pastor Josh currently serves as the Lead Pastor of Christpoint Church, where he encourages his congregants to engage God with their head (right thinking — Word), their heart (right affections — worship), their hands (right living — service), and their feet (right direction — mission).
Training and teaching his church and staff how to become true disciples of Christ is his heart's desire. Pastor Josh also serves as an adjunct professor for Messenger College of the Pentecostal Church of God, where he was once a full-time professor before accepting the pastoral position at Christpoint. Prior to coming to Joplin, MO, Pastor Josh served for eight years as the Lead Pastor at New Beginnings Worship Center in Cynthiana, KY, where he also served as the Kentucky District Discipleship Director for the PCG.
Education and lifelong growth are core values of Pastor Josh. He graduated from the Valor Christian College Pastoral Ministry Program, earned his Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Georgetown College (2004), his Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary (2009), and most recently completed his Doctor of Ministry from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in Springfield, MO (2018). His dissertation is titled: The Ministry and Activity of the Holy Spirit in the Book of Acts: A Pattern of Church Health. He is also completing a ThM at Gordan Conwell in Theology.
Pastor Josh desires to develop leaders, grow disciples, and witness the power of Pentecost perpetuated throughout the Church. When not serving the community of Christpoint, he loves spending time with his wife Tiphani, their daughters Reese and Ellie, trying new restaurants, hosting friends and family, riding roller coasters across the country, and studying early church history.
